A Modern Mystic
           Harumi Klossowska de Rola

Dreamy, intricate, poetic—  Harumi Klossowska de Rola and her works of art are a reflection of the wonderful artistic universe she experienced, nested between the forests and mountains of Switzerland.

‘AME-NO-KAKU’ (Stag)

Daughter of famous Balthus and Japanese artist Setsuko Ideta, Harumi is a jewellery designer and a sculptor who discerns subtleties of artistic expression and meticulous craftsmanship.

Born in 1973 in Geneva, she was influenced by her background that gifted her with an influx of creativity and began designing haute joaillerie in 2008, and has since created pieces for luxury brands including Boucheron, Chopard, Van Cleef & Arpels, Valentino and Goossens.

‘DAAL’ (Deer)

Art in nature is contemplation and Harumi shapes her work with treasured memories and her understanding of the natural.

All densely patterned in lushly coloured geometrical structures, this collection leads the eye into the perspectival distance whilst exuding a poetic re-interpretation of String Theory and Held’s thoughts on the multiverse.

‘Yakushima, the Mystic Island’ by Harumi Klossowska de Rola is on show

Her recent exhibition "Yakushima", the Mystic Island at Galerie Yves Gastou is an ode to Nature and its mystic creations. With Egyptian, Japanese and Etruscan influence, her creatures exude universality that is wild yet delicate. Her source of inspiration from the natural world with its flora, fauna and some fascinating beasts has inculcated a sense of timelessness to her unique works of art.
